Snowy Crossroads Battlemap
As you round the bend, a crossroads, marked by a singular tree, comes into view on the road ahead. Coming closer, you see the unpacked wagons of a merchant gathered around the tree and a fire crackling invitingly. The middle aged dwarf woman sitting at it looks up and smiles as you approach, “Ah, customers. Can I interest you in some goods?”
Created for our version of an encounter with a certain merchant caravan from early in Rime of the Frostmaiden, this map is perfect for a variety of encounters that might occur under the tree that marks this icy crossing. Featuring four roads meeting near the center overlooked by a tree beneath which has been placed a blazing fire pit and an assortment of wagons with goods in them, who knows what might go down on this map…
We’re providing you with four variations of this map. All versions are high quality 2800×2800 JPGs at 72dpi and suitable for use on a virtual tabletop. It was designed with a 70×70 grid in mind and is 40 squares both high and wide.
- Day Time: No special lighting has been applied to this gridless map. While the map was created with our 70×70 pixel grid in mind, it could easily work with a larger 140×140 grid or a smaller 35×35 grid.
- Day Time with Grid: As the day time variant but with the 70×70 grid we had in mind when laying out the map overlaid on the map.
- Night or Evening: As per the day time map but with a tinting to give a hint of evening or night time to the map. An exception has been made around the fire pit which is slightly brightened to simulate the light put off by the fire.
- Night/Evening with Grid: As per the night or evening map except with our 70×70 grid overlaid on the map.
