We’re Back!
Ok, so it’s not a dinosaur story – though at this point it might seem like one.
It’s been quite some time since I posted anything (just shy of 22 months – almost two full years – by my count) and that’s been due to a number of factors – the biggest one being that, for quite some time, I didn’t have either the time or the motivation to be able to actively work on things and then life (and work) got in the way.
The reality is that I still want to do something in this space – but right now I’ve got no real set plan. When the pandemic started, I had a lot more time on my hands all of a sudden and so was able to devote time to setting up and getting the site going and I knew what I wanted to do with it. But now, I’m not sure that original plan will still work; I don’t have as much time to devote to going through APs like I originally did (at that time, my work involved having endless hours of working silently by myself so I could listen to things while I worked where as now I spend most of my time at work talking with others).
That said, I still have plans to focus on tabletop stuff – but my exact interests in tabletop have changed a little bit as well. I’m playing a lot more miniatures games now and a lot of board/card games. I’m still purchasing and reading new TTRPGs, mostly indie in nature, but I don’t have as much time (or the players) to play them.
So the site is still going to focus on those as I get back to posting but there will be a bit more about the hobby side of things and some of the non-TTRPG aspects of tabletop gaming. I hope at some point to get us back to doing the occasional AP, likely short term games, but for now I’m just going to be writing up posts and continuing to work on projects in the hopes of possibly launching a few things that’ve been bouncing around in my head.
In conclusion – no, we didn’t go the way of the dinosaurs (not entirely) and I’m still alive with a (admittedly not-so-great) plan to keep working on the site. I hope you’ll stick around as I play around with things, find out what works for me, and move the site forward a bit.
